AYAQ ambassadors' favourite ski touring routes #1

Our routes for your ski touring trips!

Together with the AYAQ ambassadors, we wanted to share our favourite ski touring routes with you, to share with you those places and moments of pure happiness. Are you ready to go with us?

1 - Antoine Capellaro: the Grande Faille in the Bauges

Antoine CapellaroWhat better place for our photographer than a splendid place for an ideal ski touring outing? Located in the heart of Savoie, the Bauges massif is notably culminated by the Pécloz and its 2197m. To get there, the departure is from Belledonne, before a passage in the magnificent but very narrow Grande Faille, a real corner of paradise for Antoine. Once the 1650m of difference in altitude have been swallowed, an exceptional panorama awaits you.

2 - Iwan Schuwey: the Wandflue in Gruyère

The Gastlosen mountain range is full of of mountains all more exciting the some of them. Among them, the Wandflue in the Gruyère region, in the heart of the Alps Bernese, is Iwan's favourite route. Starting from Jaun, you will have a breathtaking view of the 1100m climb to the summit. Once at the top, the view of the surrounding region is one of the most beautiful in Switzerland.

3 - Julia Pellier: Mont Buet in Chamonix

From Vallorcine, Mont Buet may seem far away, as shown by the 1700m difference in altitude that separates us from it. Then, the more the kilometres go by, the closer the summit gets, with as a highlight the breathtaking view of the Mont Blanc that you could touch with the tip of your stick. The junction of the Chamonix valley and the Cirque de Fer à Cheval, Julia's favourite route has plenty of surprises in store for you.

4 - Vincent Defrasne: Mount Rogneux in the Swiss Valais

Of all the expeditions I've done, Mont Rogneux remains my favourite ski touring route. The ideal is to do this trip in two times, to take advantage of a night spent in the Brunet hut, halfway up the route. Starting from Lourtier, not far from the Grand Saint Bernard, you will set off for 21km with a little less than 1800m of positive change in altitude. I hope your legs are ready and your edges sharpened!
