Caring for your AYAQ garments

The life cycle of a product is made up of different stages. From manufacture to end of life, almost 80% of the water and energy is consumed during the consumer's use of the garment (largely by washing machines).

It is therefore important not to wash clothes unnecessarily, and in general, to take good care of them by doing quality washes. This can also increase the life of the garment.

AYAQ offers some key tips for your washing:

  • Not too hot: The washing temperature indicated is the MAXIMUM temperature at which the garment can be washed. If the garment is not stained, it can obviously be washed at a lower temperature (energy saving)
  • Not too often: before washing your clothes just because of bad smells, remember to air your clothes, this is sometimes enough. This saves you unnecessary effort and saves you energy, water and cleaning products.

Washing and care instructions LONAK Hardshell Jacket

Washing :

Close the zips and turn the jacket inside out. Wash your jacket in the washing machine at 30°C maximum. Do not overload your machine.

Washing powder: Use a standard washing powder, without softener or bleach.

Select a thorough rinse to remove all the detergent.

Drying and reactivation of water repellency :

To reactivate the water-repellent treatment of your waterproof jacket, drying is a very important step.

First air dry your jacket inside out, then tumble dry it (still inside out). Use the synthetic programme, maximum 15 minutes.

Washing and care instructions BALTORO Insulation Jacket

Washing :

Close the zips of your jacket. Wash your jacket in the washing machine at 30°C maximum. We recommend adding 2 tennis balls and other clothes to the machine in order to keep the "volume" of the filling fibres.

Laundry: Use a standard detergent, without fabric softener or bleach. Select a thorough rinse to remove all the detergent. Choose a gentle spin to allow the upholstery fibres to stay in place.

Drying :

For a good positioning of the padding fibres after washing, we advise you to put your jacket directly into the tumble dryer with 2 tennis balls.

You can also choose to air dry, preferably flat, by turning your jacket over regularly.

Washing and care tips for Merino wool clothing

Washing :

Always turn your garment inside out when washing.

Always use a delicate programme.

We advise you to do the first the first 5 washes cold.

Then wash your garment at 30 degrees maximum.

Be careful not to wash merino wool products with clothes that have zips or velcro.

Laundry: Use a special wool detergent, without softener or bleach. Avoid spinning and never wring out your garment.

Drying :

Air dry your garment flat.

Without spin-drying, it may take a little longer to dry, but you will retain all the qualities of your garment much longer. The advantage of a merino wool product is that it is odourless, so you will wash it much less often than a synthetic garment.

Clothes moths love wool!

To do this, regularly empty and wash your cupboards with white vinegar (no need to use bleach).

Put your clothes away when they are clean.
