Some ski touring routes with AYAQ adventurers

AYAQ is a community of outdoor adventurers and lovers of the great outdoors.

Some shared their favorite ski touring routes.

1 - Antoine Capellaro: the Great Rift in the Bauges

Antoine Capellaro What better place for our photographer than a splendid setting for an ideal ski touring outing? Located in the heart of Savoie, the Bauges massif is notably culminated by the Pécloz and its 2197m. To get there, the departure point is from Belledonne, before passing through the magnificent but very narrow Grande Faille, a true corner of paradise for Antoine. Once the 1650m of vertical drop have been swallowed up, an exceptional panorama awaits you.

2 - Iwan Schuwey: the Wandflue in Gruyère

The Gastlosen mountain range is full of of mountains, each more captivating than the last. Among them, the Wandflue in the Gruyère region, in the heart of the Bernese Alps, is Iwan's favorite route. Starting from Jaun, you'll have a breathtaking view of the 1,100m of elevation gain that takes you away from the summit. Once at the top, the view of the surrounding region is one of the most beautiful in Switzerland.

3 - Julia Pellier: Mont Buet in Chamonix

From Vallorcine, Mont Buet may seem far away, as evidenced by the 1,700m of elevation gain that separates us. Then, as the kilometers pass, the summit gets closer, with the highlight being the breathtaking view of Mont Blanc that you could touch with the tip of your pole. Julia's favorite route, the junction of the Chamonix Valley and the Cirque de Fer à Cheval, has plenty of surprises in store for you.

4 - Vincent Defrasne: Mount Rogneux in Valais, Switzerland

Of all the expeditions I've done, Mont Rogneux truly remains my favorite ski touring route. The ideal is to do this outing in two stages, to enjoy a night spent in the Brunet hut, halfway through. Starting from Lourtier, not far from the Grand Saint Bernard, you'll set off for 21km with a little less than 1800m of elevation gain. I hope your legs are ready and your edges are sharp!
