Care Instructions

Proper care of your AYAQ technical apparel is essential to maintain performance, comfort, and durability. Our products are built to last, but appropriate maintenance extends their effectiveness over time.

1. Hard Shells – Waterproof Jackets and Pants

Washing:
• Machine wash at max 30°C, inside out with zippers closed
• Do not overload the machine
• Use regular detergent without fabric softener or bleach
• Select an extra rinse cycle to fully remove detergent residues

Drying:
• Drying is crucial to reactivate the durable water repellent (DWR) treatment
• Air dry inside out
• Finish with a tumble dry on synthetic setting, max 15 minutes

2. Softshells and Synthetic Technical Apparel

Washing:
• Machine wash at 30°C on delicate cycle
• Wash inside out with zippers and velcro fastened
• Do not overload the machine
• Use a mild detergent designed for technical fabrics, without softener or bleach

Drying:
• Air dry away from direct heat sources
• A short tumble dry at low temperature (max 10 minutes) helps reactivate the DWR treatment

3. Merino Wool Garments

Washing:
• For the first 5 washes, prefer cold wash
• Then use delicate cycle at max 30°C
• Wash inside out with wool-specific detergent
• Do not overload the machine
• Avoid spinning and do not wring the garment

Drying:
• Air dry flat or on a hanger
• Do not tumble dry, heat damages natural merino fibers

4. Re-Waterproofing

Over time and washes, the durable water repellent (DWR) treatment may fade. It can be reactivated or renewed using a spray or a specific “DWR safe” wash. We recommend PFC-free products for better environmental care.

5. Storage

Store your garments in a dry place away from light and humidity. Avoid compressing them for long periods, especially insulated jackets, to preserve loft and thermal efficiency.
