A legend of extreme exploration

Mike Horn has been traversing the planet's most hostile terrain for over 25 years, on unconventional expeditions, often completely self-sufficient and without motorized power.

1997 - Descent of the Amazon River
Alone, Mike Horn travels over 7,000 kilometers from Peru to the Atlantic, swimming and paddling through dense forests, rapids and wildlife.

1999 - Latitude Zero: around the world via the equator
Without ever using motorized means, he circumnavigated the globe, following the imaginary line of the equator. Over 40,000 kilometers sailed, walked, cycled and canoed.

2006 - Arctic night expedition
The first man to reach the North Pole alone in winter, in total darkness and temperatures below -60°C. A unique feat of endurance, on skis and pulling his own equipment.

2016 - Pole2Pole Expedition
A circumnavigation of the globe via the two poles, combining sailing, trekking and skiing. The aim: to bear witness to the visible effects of climate change in extreme environments.

2017 - Antarctic crossing
In 57 days, Mike Horn crossed over 5,100 kilometers of Antarctica alone, with only his skis and a sled. An exceptional physical and mental performance.

A total commitment to the environment

Throughout his expeditions, Mike Horn has witnessed first-hand the ecological upheavals affecting oceans, ice and forests. Aware of the urgency of climate change, he has been committed for several years to raising awareness among younger generations and promoting a more responsible relationship with nature.

His "What's Left" project illustrates this desire: a series of educational expeditions to explore and document the most fragile areas of the globe, with the aim of inspiring concrete action for their preservation.
