Extending the Life of Your Skins Means Protecting Their Glue.
The glue on your skins is very delicate. By adopting a few simple habits, you can significantly extend their lifespan.
1 - Keep Your Skins Warm
When not under your skis, keep your skins close to your body to maintain warmth. The Hardshell LONAK jacket is designed for ski touring and features large inner pockets to make storing your skins easier.
2 - Apply Them on Clean, Dry Skis
For your skins to adhere during your ascent and over time, it’s essential to place them on skis that are clean and dry—free of snow, ice crystals, or moisture. Use a cloth to clean your skis before applying the skins.

3 - Reattach Skins to Their Protective Backing
At the end of your ascent, reattach your skins to their protective plastic or original packaging. This prevents glue buildup by folding them properly.
4 - Avoid Drying Skins Near Heat Sources
The best method is to air-dry your skins at room temperature. While it may be tempting to dry them by a fire or radiator, this damages the glue and should be avoided.
