Recycled synthetic stuffing fibers
Wishing to offer technical and comfortable materials, while minimizing their impact on the environment, we have chosen to use synthetic free fibers for the filling of our cold protection clothing.
The multiple advantages of this material allow us to offer very high technical performance and a very reduced environmental impact at the same time.
- Recycled synthetic loose fibers provide comfortable warmth and reliable insulation in many conditions.
- These technical properties are retained even in wet weather, where animal down fillings are sometimes compromised in their effectiveness, which suffers in damp or wet conditions.
- Synthetic filling fibers dry much faster and are easier to manage than animal down, which is more fragile when used outdoors.
- The material we use for the insulation of our technical clothing is remarkably light and compact, essential qualities for dynamic mountain sports and particularly ski touring.
- The fibers do not escape from the compartments of the clothes: the clothes retain their qualities, consistency and appearance for a long time.
- Regular maintenance and washing are much easier compared to animal down with a versatile fiber in terms of treatments. To learn more, you can find more information and advice on our Maintenance page.

For several of its garments, AYAQ has chosen recycled fibers from the Thermore brand, made from 100% mechanically recycled polyester, and having the following certifications: Bluesign / GRS.
These loose fibers offer a downy feel and are very lightweight. Their mechanical structure provides high resistance to the formation of aggregates during washing.
This is a mechanically recycled material: the bottles are first sorted, then crushed into chips that are melted (without the use of chemicals) to make granules. These granules are then heated and processed with high-precision machines to make wires.
You can find more information about our recycled polyester material choices on our Recycled Polyester page.
