For ski touring to be a real pleasure, you need the right equipment, but above all the right size. Here are a few tips to help you choose the perfect ski.
1 - Adapt your skiing to your needs
Usually, for all-round use, the ski should be between 5 and 8 cm shorter than its owner. However, size varies according to the sport. For example, if you're a freerando skier, your skis will need to be your size, as well as being wide enough.
2 - Adapt your skiing to the conditions
Are you planning to ski at the end of the season, when the mercury rises and the slopes are grittier? Choose a slightly shorter ski to make your conversions easier.
3 - Adapt your skiing to your level
As a general rule, beginners are advised to choose a wider, longer ski to make skiing easier. However, if you like a challenge, try skiing with a thinner skate.
